My choice of music genre
I have chosen the pop genre because according to www.musicweek.com, pop music took a 38.5 % share of singles market in 2012 and is the highest percentage ever recorded for a decade. also the dominance of pop was even stronger in the singles market, where its share rose to the highest level since 2002. i also think this was suited to the audience of today because most people who buy these singles are teenagers or children. Likewise I chose this because there are many male and female pop artists to choose from. From my opinion, i think that pop magazines look more fun and are more colorful so I think it would be easier to work with these key elements for the audience to notice the magazine and possibly buy it.
Hi Michael, I have read through all of your posts and am pleased with the work you have put in. There are a few bits missing from research though- mag in shop placement and a timeline of a music mag so please add these two. In terms of your planning I am pleased to see your concept ideas are published. I would like to see your ideas for the layout of your mag, the colour scheme, fonts being tried out and the name of your mag. Also need to have photoshoot planning documents done asap.
