Experimenting Different Colors for my Title

I think that the red/black/white font is the most appropriate because when a magazine with these colors  are placed in a shop, it will immediately catch you attention. I also asked different people from my school and more than half of the people who voted said that they preferred the red/black/white font color. i also think it fits the genre because the red makes it look bright but the black and white gives it a sleek and classical look.

audience research

Audience research
 NME
from looking at several different front covers, I would assume that ut has a target audience of well-educated fans of bands and new music. They will enjoy reading about the wider subjects such as films. from the front cover i also assume that the audience will be mostly male and predominantly from the UK. They also will be interested in a wide range of subjects such as film and fashion. Finally the front cove also suggests that the auidence will be dedicated to music fans and will be a regular buyer of this magazine. In extent, i found out that the average age of people buying this magazines is at around 25, which fits in because the magazines target men with ages 17-30.
Audience Demographics:
Age:25
Gender: Male
Employment: Full time job
Geographics: Lives in the U.K

Possible interview questions

why did you break up?
Things weren't going at all well with us, the reason being is that we are just fed up of each other and if you are seeing the same person for many years you will start to find out their ways of handling situations and you might not agree with them and that's how disputes are formed. also we weren't producing as good music as we used to and i think that was also one of the causes which made the band collapse.

What are your hopes for the near future?
i think that in the future i would like to start a family and spend as much time as possible with my kids and eventually teach them as much as i know about music so that maybe one day they will follow my footsteps, and hopefully i have been a good role model to them.

what influenced you to start the band?
me and him, we grew up together and since we were little, we discovered that we had a passion for music. this then developed through our high school years and led us to many great successes, such as winning competitions and performing at gigs in local areas. After this a person approached us and said if we wanted to do this as a full time job and we said yes. several years down the line he would become our manager and look at where we are today.

will you have a solo career?

I don't think that i am ready to decide weather or not this will come true, but if i wish to persevere a solo career, i'm sure that he will be supportive and will wish me all the best when doing so.

Picture Analysis of Music Magazines in a Shop

In this picture you can tell that there are 2 types of music magazine, kerrang!and NME. This sugests that the shop salesman knows what are the most popular magazines and put them were they are visible to the potential buyer. One thing that i found wrong was that there was only 2 types and as you can see there are more than 2 for the other magazine genres. What also comes to mind is that maybe the shop salesman doesn't sell alot of these magazines. To improve this, I think that there should be a wider variety of magazines and maybe put them on the middle shelve were its not to high or low for the customers to realise the presence of the magazines.

 NME music magazine timeline

The first cover of NME magazine was created after Maurice Kinn bought the company "Accordion Time" and "Musical Press". After this he hired new and reliable staff and overhauled the existing template and he also said that he promised that their will be big changes. During the same year, he re-named the magazine "New Musical Express" and Ted Heath Big Bill Broonzy and The Goons stared on the cover.
By the late 60's the rise of home publishing, underground zines and alternative influenced publications like Sounds, ZigZag and Cream was threatening NME's position. after this NME struggled to survive and something good had to be put into practice. this is when Scott Walker's success grew and he appeared on the cover 3 times bringing back the fame in 1969.
The sex pistols appeared on an NME cover in 1977 in an image that was taken at the marquee club whilst the band was making the videos for Pretty Vacant and God Save The Queen. The shot was very chaotic but this helped to capture the mood of the time, which is why the images have become so ionic.
when steve sutherland, NME editor at the time, heard about the death of kurt cobain late one night at the office, he called an impromptu editorial meeting in the local pub saying,"there's nothing useful in the papers, on the radio or on TV, so it's up to us. this was when a major audience was failing to correspond to them but after this was released, it attracted other audiences that different music magazines wish they had.
This cover was released in 2001 and was taken at about the time White Blood Cells was being released. the roads in the area were so quiet that the photographer decided to take the picture in the middle of a four-lane highway. This show us that you can capture good pictures where least expected and most of the time they can be a major success.
